Between the national press and provincial local newspapers : the emergence of a regional press in the Paris Ile-de-France region

Le Temps des médias n°5, automne 2005, p.177-188

The regional and local press of the Paris Ile-de-France region constitutes, in media studies, a neglected object. It is its apparition and its progressive anchorage in the region of the French capital that we aim to study in this paper. First merely possessing small local weeklies established in its departments, the parisian region did not get a regional daily paper before the 1960’s, with the regionalisation of Le Parisien Libéré. The rise of media groups in the whole country did not spare the regional and local newspapers in Ile-de-France, which experience specific difficulties today. DrapeauFrancais
