This article proposes a reflection on media concern relating to the history of the Revolution occurred in Burkina Faso in August 1983 but also a re-examination of this history today. It deciphers the representations that the public daily newspaper Sidwaya made circulate on this revolution, on its figurehead Thomas Sankara and the colonizing country France during the three following political modes : Revolution, Popular Front and “democracy”. The analysis, on the basis of stereotype reveals a variable- geometry history of the Revolution.
