‘Quatre mois parmi nos Noirs d’Afrique’on the front page of Le Petit Parisien: Representations of Africa and African at the end of the 1920’s.

In 1928, the famous great reporter Albert Londres left for French Black Africa to lead an investigation which, as soon as it was published in Le Petit Parisien, caused an outcry in the colonial circles and the public opinion. Beyond their reception, we analyze the representations of Africa and Africans which are conveyed by the promotion strategies of the mass media, built by the Londres’discourse and representative of the collective imagination of the 1920’s.
