Beyond borders. Solidarnosc graphic campaign and the international solidarity

The graphic identity of Solidarnosc played a significant role during the 1980s for the Polish opposition movement and in its final victory against the communist system. Thanks to international campaigns in support of Solidarnosc, its logo benefits from an extraordinary world diffusion and renown. However, its significance goes beyond the symbol of support for the local workers’ movement or the struggle of the Poles against the political system in place : it has gained a more universal meaning, without losing its subversive and controversial dimension.
